School Catering Manager Served Up £550 Refund
Angela Gray is trusted with serving hundreds of staff and students every school day in her role as catering manager at a South London secondary school, something her 15 years in the industry has prepared her for well.
Something she didn’t quite expect, however, was the substantial £550 uniform tax rebate she received after making a claim with Uniform Benefits online.
Angela was able to make a backdated claim for chefs’ whites and a set of knives, which she’s paid for in previous positions.
She also claimed uniform tax allowance for her school kitchen essentials including her steel-capped safety shoes and the laundry of her white shirts and black trousers.
Angela’s uniform certainly sees plenty of action with 900 diners passing through the canteen doors every day and Fish and Chip Friday being the busiest day of the whole week.
She admits that she relies on her team to keep everything running smoothly and stress free. And when it comes to selecting the best candidates to work under her, applicants are tested out on those super busy days.
As for her uniform rebate, Angela was glad to have extra money to keep up with the cleaning of all those food-stained clothes. And while the rebate itself went towards paying bills, she told us: “I’m definitely glad I got it!”
Angela kindly passed on details of the uniform allowance and the right to claim to her head chef, who she quipped, may well owe her a drink as a result.
